Leschaco to shore up global logistics presence with expansions in Europe

January 19, 2018: After expanding its footprint in the US and Asia, Global logistics service provider Leschaco (Lexzau, Scharbau GmbH & Co. KG) has embarked on a major expansion in Europe.

According to reports, the group companies will provide its customers a locally-based service through Leschaco France SARL, which is located in Paris, France. Similarly, in couple of months, it will extend its services through Leschaco Iberia SL, located in Valencia (Spain). It is further planning to add more offices in both countries.

France and Spain are among the European logistics growth markets, which has huge growth potential," said Jrg Conrad, owner and CEO of Leschaco group.

"Given the prospects of a potential growth scenario, we have mooted plans to strengthen our local presence which is in sync with our global expansion strategy. Additionally, we are equipped to meet the need of our customers with our subsidiaries in France and Spain," said Conrad.

Earlier, Leschaco which is a member of the strategic alliance%u2014EURTEAM was represented by agents in France and Spain.

In 2017, Leschaco bought stakes in the joint venture company%u2014Global Saga Leschaco Pvt Ltd. However, since January 02, it operates under the new name%u2014Leschaco India Pvt Ltd.

"The new JV company's name underlines our business targets based on sustainable growth and strong association within our globally successful Leschaco group, which has about 2,500 employees," said TK Ram, managing partner of Leschaco India Pvt Ltd.

"The new brand name showcases the perception of Leschaco brand's future development of products and services," said Conrad.

Leschaco currently operates from 71 owned offices spread across 22 countries. Its core business segments include sea and air freight, tank container and contract logistics. Apart from this, it offers several value-added services with multimodal transport.

During this year, the company plans to set up is presence in Chicago, besides Salvador de Bahia and the State of Santa Catarina.
