September 23, 2017: LATAM Airlines Group has released the preliminary monthly traffic statistics for the month of August 2017.
The Airlines Group’s cargo operations reported an increase of 7.3 percent in revenue tonne kilometers as against August 2016. The total volume handled during the month stood at 291 RTKs against 272 RTKs in the same period last year. Year to date volume handled was 2177 RTKs which saw a 1.8 percent decline.
The available tonne kilometres fell by 3.8 percent for August. However, the decline is higher at 8.4 percent in year to date segment.
There is a visible improvement in the total load factor clocking 54 percent in August. The cargo load factor marked an increase of 5.6 percentage point. In the year to date segment, the cargo load factor marked an increase of 3.6 percentage point.
