IAG Cargo to start direct flight to Pittsburgh from April 2019

Aug 01, 2018: International Airlines Group (IAG) Cargo will offer a new direct service to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from April 2, 2019. This brings the total number of IAG Cargo-operated US gateways to 26.

The service will run year-round, four times a week from London Heathrow and will be the only direct flight from the UK to Pittsburgh.

The airline will deploy Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the route that has a cargo payload of up to 14 tonnes per flight.

This addition builds on our strong entry points into the US and will use the newest aircraft in our fleet, the Boeing 787-8. We’re proud to add Pittsburgh to our network of over 350 destinations globally.”

Flights from London Heathrow will run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

With Pittsburgh’s export-oriented advanced industries including health services, manufacturing, and technology seeing growth rates of nearly double the rate of Pittsburgh’s overall private sector growth in recent years, IAG Cargo anticipates that the new Pittsburgh route will support these industries by carrying products such as pharmaceuticals and machinery parts.
