Henry Woo is to head up the Asia-Pacific (APAC) division at HANSA HEAVY LIFT, taking over from Joerg Roehl.

Henry Woo, who will be based at the shipping line’s Asia headquarters in Singapore, has two decades of experience in the supply chain and shipping industry, including senior roles with BBC Chartering, DHL Global Forwarding Management and DB Schenker, where he helped build teams in the region.

“Henry has been with us since day one at HANSA HEAVY LIFT. We have relied on his industry experience, creativity and leadership to build up our strong position within APAC. In particular, Henry has been the leader of our move into more complex Transport & Installation (T&I) projects in Asia and led our work with Bumi Armada and BioWave in the past years,” said Roger Iliffe, chief executive officer, HANSA HEAVY LIFT.

After almost six years with the organisation and part of the founding management team, Joerg Roehl decided to move back to Europe and will remain in close contact with the organisation whereby he continues to be in an advisory role.

Henry joined HANSA HEAVY LIFT in 2012 as head of Commercial, Asia Pacific, and successfully built the commercial network and the team in the APAC region.

HANSA HEAVY LIFT opened its Singapore office in 2012 and has eight offices globally, including Shanghai/China, Perth/Australia, Sao Paulo/Brazil, Houston/USA, Monaco, and Dubai/UAE and global headquarters in Hamburg/Germany.

The specialist heavy lift shipping line also has exclusive agents in the UK, Argentina, Colombia, Canada and Korea.
