APR 3, 2015: Hawaiian Airlines has announced the appointment of Jim Kennedy to the position of director – base maintenance. In his new position, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and assurance for Hawaiian Airlines’ fleet of various aircraft, including heavy maintenance and support.

“Jim brings with him a very strong and diverse background in aircraft maintenance,” says Jim Landers, interim vice president – maintenance & engineering. “As our company’s growth progresses, adding Jim to our team will allow us to continue to provide safe and reliable aircraft for our customers.”

Kennedy brings more than 25 years of maintenance, engineering and mechanical experience to Hawaiian Airlines. Most recently, he served as an independent consultant working for a number of operators spanning the globe, and prior to this he served as vice president – maintenance and engineering at Southern Air. Jim started his career as a mechanic, which led to a long-held tenure as director – maintenance at DHL Airways as the FAR 119 post holder. He also held positions at Air Transport International and the former Zantop International Airlines and Eastern Airlines.

Kennedy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics and Business from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida and received an Airframe and Power Plant License from Colorado Aero Tech in Denver, Colorado
