April 23, 2018: Nordic airline Primera Air has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321neo, on lease from aircraft lessor GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS).

The aircraft was assembled and delivered in Hamburg; this aircraft is the first of three from the GECAS orderbook that Airbus will deliver to the airline in 2018.

“Given the outstanding operational efficiency, comfort and range of the aircraft, the A321neo is ideally suited to our cross-Atlantic travel from both the UK and France,” shared Andri Már Ingólfsson, CEO and president of Primera Travel Group.

“We have been partnering with them on fleet solutions for 11 years now and this latest delivery of the ground-breaking A321neo with LEAP engines is the latest chapter and a very important development for Primera. We wish them every success with the operation,” declared Felix McArdle, senior vice president - Sales, GECAS.

“Incorporating the latest technology engines, such as the CFM Leap-1A, along with aerodynamic advances and cabin innovations, the A321neo offers a reduction in fuel consumption of at least 15 percent per seat from day one and 20 percent by 2020,” Kimon Sotiropoulos, vice president Sales Northern and Central Europe from Airbus.
