April 7, 2018: In a fresh development, Robert van de Weg, one of the former employees of Volga-Dnepr Group has rejoined as vice president, sales and marketing.

In his new role, Weg will be handling the overall commercial activities of the group airline, which includes AirBridgeCargo Airlines, Volga-Dnepr Airlines and Atran Airlines. He will also be responsible to strengthen and develop the group’s ‘cargo supermarket’ strategy that is based on synergies of its scheduled and charter businesses to provide unique customer benefits.

Weg earlier spent nearly three years with Volga-Dnepr Group, where he held several senior roles, before he quit in 2017 to pursue his personal interests. However, he continued to provide advisory and consulting services to the group, by using his extensive knowledge and expertise in the airfreight industry.

“It’s my pleasure to be a part of Volga-Dnepr Group’s international team of airfreight professionals. My decision to rejoin the group stems from a well-considered and balanced view of what the company wanted to achieve. I have missed the action that comes from being part of a growing and ambitious group of cargo airlines on a day-to-day basis, and I look forward to engage fully in the sales and marketing activities of the group, and support customers with more service options, as well as take ongoing projects to a new level,” said Weg.
