November 23, 2017: EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg has all the reasons to commemorate its milestone in the aviation history of France and Switzerland as it recently received the IATA CEIV pharma certification valid for three years.

Located at the intersection of Switzerland, Germany and France, it’s the first airport authority to receive IATA CEIV Pharma certification for showcasing its commitment towards the regional life science industry, and for strengthening the airport’s position as a dependable partner for efficient storage and transportation of temperature-sensitive pharma products across the globe.

In November 2015, EuroAirport obtained the Good Distribution Practices (GDP) certification. Out of five other entities that took part in the certification, Fiege and Fischer Road Cargo were shortlisted along with Swissport, Swiss World Cargo and Worldwide Flight Services (WFS). All three entities are expected to receive the certification in 2018.

According to reports, EuroAirport’s 21’000 m2 state-of-the-art cargo hub offers a plethora of features, including stable temperature control, real-time temperature monitoring and efficient processing. It’s also equipped to meet requirement of pharma companies based in Basel, which is a home to the world’s highest density of life science firms.
