January 2, 2018: Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and EgyptAir Holding Company signing a firm order for the purchase of 12 CS300 aircraft, besides purchase rights of another 12 additional CS300 aircraft.

The Letter of Intent (LOI) of EgyptAir was announced on November 14 during the Dubai Air Show 2017.

“We remember the successful entry into service of the C Series aircraft, and we are pleased that its many achievements are paving the way for greater success. Welcoming EgyptAir to the family of C Series operators is another historic moment for Bombardier,” said Fred Cromer, president of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft.

“The aircraft is performing exceptionally well, the industry recognises the C Series aircraft as the best of its kind and this request from another reputable airline is a testament to its enormous value,” said Cromer.

It will allow EgyptAir to better serve national and regional destinations, as well as several European and African destinations.

“The unique profitability profile of the CS300 will allow us to open up new opportunities and is perfectly integrated into our growth strategy,” said Safwat Musallam, president and CEO of EgyptAir.

"Our passengers will benefit from a modern and unparalleled comfort. We hope to integrate this innovative and efficient aircraft into our fleet,” said Musallam.

Meanwhile, based on the list price of the CS300 aircraft, the firm order contract is valued at approximately $1,100 million. If EgyptAir goes ahead with purchase rights of 12 CS300 aircraft, the value of the contract is expected to increase to almost $2,200 million.
