The Netherlands, October 29, 2014 (STAT):-The Thalassa Pistis of Evergreen Line called at the ECT Delta Terminal sets a new record for ECT and for the Port of Rotterdam during its visit to the terminal, 10,557 containers were handled. There were 5,341 containers unloaded and 5,216 containers loaded.
On the vessel a berthproductivity of more than 150 container moves per hour was achieved. The ship was therefore able to continue its journey to the Far East well within the agreed upon time. With a capacity of 13,806 TEU, a length of 368 metres and a width of 51 metres, the ship of Evergreen Line is classified as an Ultra Large Container Ship (ULCS).

These large ships are increasingly being used in intercontinental container transport; as demonstrated by this new record, the call sizes (the number of containers unloaded and loaded during a terminal visit) are increasing accordingly.
