February 6, 2018: In a recent move, Deutsche Post DHL Group recently appointed Thomas Grunau as the new CEO of its digital freight platform, Saloodo.

Grunau succeeded Amadou Diallo, who recently took over as CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Middle East and Africa (MEA).

According to DHL, Grunau and Diallo will help the company in strengthening its digital expertise and distinctive logistics competence.

“I am pleased to rope in Grunau who is an expert in the digital transport and international logistics business. Grunau will be responsible to drive the expansion of our start-up,” said Tim Scharwath, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, freight and member of Saloodo's advisory board.

Grunau holds a degree in business administration. He was earlier with the Kuhne + Nagel Group, where he held various management positions and managed e-commerce, marketing and digitalisation. Most recently, as senior vice president project office digitalisation, he was responsible for the development and introduction of disruptive technologies for Kühne + Nagel.

“I looking forward to my new role at Saloodo. It has a great team, and I will have the opportunity to lead this still young company to a strong growth phase,” said Grunau.
