DB Schenker announced the ground-breaking of a unique eight-story warehouse named Korea Global Distribution and Logistics Center, in short KLC2, positioned in Seoul, South Korea.
KLC2, to be built near Incheon Airport, within the IFEZ (Incheon Free Economic Zone) utilizes space and special features unique to other warehouses. The state-of-the-art facility focuses on sustainability, innovation, and creating a safe and sophisticated working environment. The operation is geared towards the future with special emphasis on automation to ensure lean processes and highest quality standards.
The land size is 13,440 sqm, with one utility floor below ground and seven floors above, including three mezzanine floors, all used for storage and logistics operation with ancillary space for amenities and offices. This brings the total gross floor area to 38,894 sqm. Adding superior quality management systems and values, the warehouse aims to be TAPA A, LEED GOLD certified and will follow NFPA standards.
“KLC2 is a crucial investment in maintaining our position at the forefront in South Korea and, especially in Asia's current active economy, driving the international exchange of goods. We continue to deliver and develop cutting- edge facilities for our customers, ensuring we remain our customers' first choice in logistics and premium services,” says Dirk Lukat, CEO of DB Schenker in South Korea.
