China Southern takes delivery of one more b777 freighter

FEB 6, 2015: China Southern Boeing 777-200 freighter has been put into operation, adding transportation capacity during 2015 Chinese Spring Festival. By then, China Southern has increased the frequency of two all-cargo freighter routes. The company aimed to add two more weekly services for PVG-LAX and PVG-ORD separately. Hence, China Southern’s transport capacity from East China to US has been increased by 50 percent to 1080 tons a week.

By July China Southern will take delivery of totally four brand new Boeing 777-200 freighters. This will take China Southern’s B777 fleet to twelve, as well as the capacity will meet substantial growth. For this new capacity, China Southern will mainly put it into adding frequency from Guangzhou or Shanghai to Europe or US. And it will also launch new destinations like Paris and London, in order to connect the existing passenger routes Guangzhou-Paris and Guangzhou-London to enhance competitiveness.

At present, china southern cargo has 3 freighter destinations in North America; they are Chicago, Los Angeles and Vancouver. Previously, China Southern has launched Guangzhou-New York and Guangzhou-Wuhan-San Francisco passenger service, which makes the total northern American destinations to 5. Covering East, West coast and central west of USA, southwest of Canada, a unique network advantage has formed. Besides, through road feeder service, shipments from china can be transported to more than 90 cities in North American such as Atlanta, Boston, Portland, Seattle and Toronto, 20 cities of which can be reached within one day.
