Broekman Logistics appoints Rik Pek as MD

OCT 29, 2015: From 1 November 2015, Rik Pek will assume with position of managing director Breakbulk Terminals. Rik has been working as general manager of Broekman Distriport bv since 1 January 2011. Under his management the breakbulk terminal has been expanded further, which resulted in the opening of a Ro-Ro ramp last summer.

According to Raymond Riemen, CEO of Broekman Logistics, Rik has grown quickly through hard work and demonstrating entrepreneurial initiative. “After an internship, Rik began his career at Broekman Logistics as a Management Trainee. From this programme he progressed subsequently to Customer Service Manager, Operations Manager and General Manager. Now it is time for the next step. As Managing Director of Breakbulk Terminals, Rik Pek is responsible for the companies Broekman Distriport bv and Broekman Project Services bv. I am convinced that Rik will continue to improve Breakbulk Terminals’ position as a leading supply chain partner.”

“With the appointment of Rik as managing director, the integration of the three terminals (Rotterdam-Botlek, Rotterdam-Heijplaat and Eemshaven) is complete. The three storage and transshipment companies will enter the market as a unit from now on. This will allow a better response to the needs of our customers in the markets of project cargo, steel and metals. To alleviate all of our partners’ concerns, we also organise the transport to and from the terminal. By clustering our breakbulk knowledge, we are able to facilitate project cargo shipping worldwide,” according to Bertwin Zonneveld, general sales manager of Broekman Breakbulk Terminals.
