October 30, 2017: Bolloré Logistics’ team from Angola recently joined Shoprite in Cape Town for a tour of their facilities. A pioneer in the FMCG market, Shoprite has a presence in over 16 countries with over 455 stores and employs over 138,000 people. Shoprite imports roughly 2,700 containers annually into Angola with goods from Europe, East Africa and South America.

Since 2016 Bolloré Logistics have provided a virtual control tower in Cape Town for Shoprite and a regional distribution centre for them in Lobito, Angola which has allowed Shoprite to maintain full control over their supply chain, whilst providing a first class global end-to-end solution for their distribution needs. Bolloré Logistics provides a 4,000 sqm warehouse and reefer storage facilities to enable fast, efficient distribution of the Shoprite food products, including fresh and perishable goods.

Bolloré Logistics also provides logistical support for Shoprite in several cross trade routes including the DRC, Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria and Mozambique and are creating more and more opportunities with Shoprite as they expand across the continent. Bolloré Logistics is currently in the process of setting up a border clearance presence at Santa Clara in Angola for Shoprite and intend to install a control tower in Cape Town for Matadi in the DRC, including the provision of logistics handing, warehousing and distribution.

As a valued partner of Shoprite, Bolloré Logistics looks forward to playing a role in their expansion within the African continent by providing innovative, bespoke logistical solutions.
