Bolloré Logistics delivers blades for new generation wind turbines in the Netherlands

February 17, 2020: Bolloré Logistics Belgium successfully handled blades of 74.5 meters long for the Dutch windmill park Heibloem in the Netherlands. This unique shipment of 74.5 meters blades, which makes the rotor diameter of 149 meters, is the first one of a new generation wind turbine in the Benelux. This site is set up for the production of 20-25 million KWh per year being the equivalent of electricity supply of 8,000 families.

The vessel arrived on February 2, 2020, at the terminal. All preparations of de-lashing, cutting and grinding performed by the crew were made in due time, in order to start the discharging operations the next day. Before discharging, an unloading concept was discussed in a toolbox meeting together with our client, the terminal operator, subcontractors and Bolloré Logistics and its industrial projects team. Around the same period, Bolloré Logistics loaded one blade ex quay onto a Dolly transport system by using two 40 T reach stackers.
