Austrian Airlines reinfornces their confidence in Lufthansa Systems’ SchedConnect

Vienna, August , 2014(STAT):- Austrian Airlines has signed an agreement with Lufthansa Systems extending the use of SchedConnect IT solution of the latter.

SchedConnect processes schedule changes in real-time and enables automated calculation and adjustment of transfer connections based on changes in an airline’s own schedule or in partner schedules. If, for instance, the minimum transfer time is no longer met or if flights are canceled, the system searches for a suitable alternative connection and reassigns the respective codeshare flight number. As a result, SchedConnect enables partner airlines to synchronize their flight schedules. This not only increases revenues but also simplifies airline processes. Ultimately, SchedConnect also improves passenger satisfaction because passengers will always have the best available connection regardless of any changes in the original schedule.

Thanks to its high level of automation, the daily calculation of optimum codeshare connections and the flexible definition of schedule distribution rules, SchedConnect enables Austrian Airlines to achieve significant process and efficiency gains. In addition, the system consolidates all schedule data at a central location.
