FEB 27, 2015: The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) announced that Allegiant Air has added new, nonstop service from the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) starting June 4, 2015. Allegiant’s launch of service from IND this month has been the largest in the company’s history.

With this announcement, Allegiant will now serve 7 markets for passengers in Central Indiana. Allegiant’s business model is focused on connecting travelers to world-class leisure destinations. Other destinations Allegiant serves at IND include New Orleans, St. Petersburg, Orlando/Sanford and Southwest Florida. Allegiant will launch service to Las Vegas this Friday, February 27, 2015, and will also begin nonstop service to Ft. Lauderdale in the spring.

Allegiant usually operates mainline jet service, which typically has 150 seats or more on each plane. For the new flight to Las Vegas, Allegiant will operate with a larger Boeing 757 which has 215 seats.

Allegiant’s rapid expansion in the Indianapolis market has provided unique and desirable additions to IND’s route map, further enhancing its level of air service that outperforms many airports of its caliber. Introducing new air service at IND is always a positive for passengers in Central Indiana as it increases competition and adds new flight options. It’s also a great way to serve our community, giving all travelers out of IND new options for affordable vacations.
