All in a day’s work - Hactl breaks all-time record handling 104 freighters in 24 hours

Nov 12, 2019: Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), Hong Kong’s largest independent cargo handler, has broken its all-time record for the number of freighters handled in a 24-hour period.

On November 3, Hactl handled 104 freighter aircraft beating its previous record of 102, set on November 5, 2017.

The peak of activity took place between 0200 and 0300, when Hactl simultaneously handled 13 freighters. Recent upgrades to Hactl’s IT system – notably a new airside management app – mean the company has increased its ramp efficiency and productivity.

88 of the 104 freighter flights were fully handled by Hactl, both on the ramp and in its SuperTerminal 1 facility. Hactl is the only cargo handler in Hong Kong which can provide both terminal- and ramp handling of freighters as a single service package.

Commenting on the achievement, Hactl’s chief executive Wilson Kwong said, “We are very proud that we have once again beaten our record for freighter handling in a single day. To have successfully processed 104 widebody freighters in just 24 hours is a clear illustration of the immense scale of our operations and resources.”
