AirBridgeCargo sees cargo volumes rise 2 percent in 2018
Jan 15, 2019: AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) saw total volumes carried in 2018 went up by 2 percent, exceeding 700,000 tonnes across ABC%u2019s growing international route network.
This growth was driven by 25 percent surge in special cargoes transportation by the Russian all cargo carrier last year.
Pharma volumes surged by more than 60 percent year-on-year, while dangerous goods shipments using the airline%u2019s abc DG product rose by 40 percent. abc XL demand for oversize and heavy cargoes increased by over 20 percent versus 2017, and ecommerce business delivered via AirBridgeCargo%u2019s abc e-com product was up 6 percent.
The carrier expects this growth trajectory to continue in terms of shipment volumes as it increases its focus on performance quality and customer satisfaction.
The increase in total cargo volumes is also attributed to the introduction of new destinations, notably Ho Chi Minh City, Shenzhen, Budapest, and Columbus. On top of this, effective fleet utilisation and team strengthening facilitated the company%u2019s growth.
