November 25, 2017: In a bid to keep pace with the latest industry technologies and ensuring traceability for customers worldwide, AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) and Sky Fresh have inked a deal on digital procedures for the transportation of time and temperature sensitive shipments.

The main point of the cooperation is related to cargo acceptance checklists, which were traditionally paper-based and filled in manually in the course of the transportation process. Sky Fresh provides an online web platform to centralise data from all acceptance checklists, with the possibility of monitoring freight movements for time and temperature sensitive shipments at each step of the transportation and the sending of automated notifications to all supply chain stakeholders. Users will be able to complete the checklists via a mobile application on their smartphone or tablet, available either on App Store or Google Play. All corresponding real-time data is visible on the Sky Fresh Web platform, accessible in any browser.

The agreement provides countless benefits for all parties concerned, as it offers a high level of customisation, transparency of operations, traceability, efficiency and the possibility to take corrective and preventive actions, if needed.

“It is not every day we see cutting-edge technologies penetrating into the air cargo industry, which makes Sky Fresh an attractive industry and tech-savvy solution. We foresee it propelling the quality of our abcPharma product, bringing it to the next level by eliminating the potential of human error. With environmental considerations high on the agenda of our company, we will contribute by decreasing the number of paper documents and using digitalization instead. It will definitely make the whole process of transportation more transparent, customised and accurate,” pointed out Fedor Novikov, global director, Pharma for AirBridgeCargo Airlines.

“For the first time, Sky Fresh will closely cooperate with ABC. Together, we want to create a digital mindset in the air freight industry, not only through efficiency gains but also by providing real-time data to support strategic decisions and proof of the excellence of ABC,” stated Fen Lasseel, business developer manager at Sky Fresh®.

For the first 10 months of 2017, ABC has reported its highest-ever growth in the volume of pharmaceuticals carried, rising 153 percent year-of-year, which illustrates ABC’s commitment to the industry and the airline’s efforts in developing solutions for special cargoes. The airline achieved IATA CEIV Pharma certification at the end of 2016, Envirotainer QEP accreditation for certain online stations in 2017, and is training a pool of home-grown specialists in time and temperature sensitive cargo solutions and networking in order to stay in touch with the latest innovations in the air cargo industry.
