July 18, 2018: Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP) now makes its digital platform myCargo app available to track pharmaceuticals. Earlier, the app was used only to track general cargo.

“Our customers can now get quotations, information about the latest and best deals, and do their booking via myCargo,” stated Enrica Calonghi, Global head of Pharmaceutical Logistics.

The carrier makes the pharma transport process transparent as customers can track their shipments before, during, and after the transportation of these temperature sensitive commodities.

“After a period of tests in several European countries we have started the rollout of this important tool, which we are already using widely for general cargo, also for pharmaceutical logistics.”

The app can be also used to track the current temperature, the battery level in the dry ice units, and the voltage in the active containers during their transit at the Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle hubs.

“All the pharmaceutical containers are checked during contact points at our hubs, at the origin and the destination,” Calonghi continued.

The digital journey for Air France KLM Martinair Cargo’s pharmaceutical customers will continue. We expect to roll out an important tool to make our capabilities more visible for our customers by the end of the year, informs the carrier through a statement.
