November 15, 2017: Pallets of fresh Chilean cherries recently reached Amsterdam from Santiago de Chile on board Air France KLM Martinair Cargo.

Subsequently, Air France KLM Martinair join hands with its partner—China Southern Airlines Cargo from Amsterdam to Shanghai, China, and arrived just as fresh, said sources close to the airline.

Interestingly, the popularity of Chilean cherries has grown impressively in recent years, thanks to their growing season, which extends between October and January every year. The cherries are also in high demand in markets across the globe due to their sweet, juicy flavour and intense colour.

Shipping fresh products around the world is a highly specialised task as it requires delicate handling, temperature management and speed to maximise shelf life of the product.

The state-of-the-art facilities of Air France KLM Martinair Cargo and China Southern Airlines Cargo are close to airports and equipped to keep products fresh and cool.
