After IATA’s World Cargo Symposium, Air Cargo China 2020 is the latest major air cargo conference-and-exhibition to be cancelled in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was scheduled to take place from June 16-18, 2020 in Shanghai but owing to growing public health concerns, Messe München, the event’s organizers, in consultation with its partners and associations, have decided to call it off.

“Due to the current situation it is almost impossible for our exhibitors to plan their participation at air cargo China,” explains Xu Jia, CEO Messe München Shanghai while announcing the cancellation of its bi-annual event. “The aviation industry is especially affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore we feel compelled to cancel Air Cargo China 2020.”

However, Messe München’s Shanghai office plans to run a transport logistic China for the domestic market with a focus on fresh logistics and cool chain.

“At the same time, we are looking forward to seeing our customers again at one of our upcoming air cargo exhibitions, either this year in Miami and Istanbul, next year in Johannesburg or Munich, but the latest in Shanghai 2022,” said Gerhard Gerritzen, deputy managing director, Messe München.
