AEI announces third MD-80SF series conversion for Everts Air Cargo

Jan 09, 2017: Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) will be converting a third MD-80 series passenger-to-freighter conversion for Fairbanks, Alaska based Everts Air Cargo. The MD-83 aircraft (MSN 53079) commenced modification on December 19 and will be re-delivered to Everts Air Cargo in April 2017.
The aircraft will be deployed to meet the seasonal demand in Alaska, and on-demand business in North America.
Commercial Jet’s Dothan, Alabama facility will perform the modification and maintenance requirements on the aircraft.
“We are seeing significant interest from the industry in AEI’s 12 position MD-80SF conversion and have recently provided multiple new customers with proposals,” said Robert Convey, AEI’s senior vice president of Sales and Marketing.
The AEI MD83SF shall provide Everts Air Cargo with an Ancra CLS capable of carrying: (12) 88” x 108” Containers/Pallets, P1 to P12.
