May 03, 2018: Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) has handled 52,281 metric tonnes of cargo volume in March this year when compared to 67,668 tonnes same period last year.

The cargo figures for the airport have seen decline not just in the month of March, but also the quarterly figures have dipped. In January-March period, cargo traffic for the airport has declined 24.7 percent year-on-year.

The airport has handled 1,878,740 passengers during the month of March 2018. The top five destinations with the highest share in traffic through AUH in March were: London Heathrow, Bangkok, Jeddah, Delhi, and Manila.

Traffic to London increased by 12 percent compared to the same month last year.

France registered the highest growth in traffic with 15.4 percent increase compared to the same month last year, followed by UK with 13 percent.
