Lima, November 10, 2014 (STAT):-With the objective of connecting Latin America and the world through artistic and cultural expression, LAN CARGO has helped transport more than 90 works of art that compose the traveling exhibit of José Gil de Castro, known as the painter of South America’s liberators.

The show, considered one of the painter’s most representative, was organized in the context of Bicentennial independence commemorations celebrated throughout the region.

José Gil de Castro is recognized as the founding artist of republican painting in Argentina, Chile and Peru as well as the official portrait painter of the main revolutionary heroes in Latin America.

The works of art in the exhibition, which belong to several of the region’s museums (including Peru’s Museum of Art, Chile’s National Fine Arts Museum and National Historic Museum and Argentina’s Historic Museum), compose a significant iconographic corpus from the Independence period and will be presented in the capitals of Peru, Chile and Argentina.
