DB Schenker, a global leader in logistics and transportation solutions, and Ford, one of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers, announced a collaboration with the ground-breaking ceremony of a 42,000 sq.m. parts distribution centre.

The ground-breaking ceremony was held at Dubai Logistics District, part of Dubai World Central (DWC), with operations scheduled to commence in January 2025, says a release from DB Schenker.

"Ako Djaf, Vice President, Contract Logistics and SCM, Middle East and Africa, DB Schenker and Ravi Ravichandran, President, Middle East, Ford were joined by senior executives from Dubai South Free Zone Authority and Atlantic Warehouse DWC during the ceremony."

Djaf says: "We are thrilled to embark on this ground-breaking venture with Ford, showcasing our commitment to innovation and excellence in the automotive supply chain. This state-of-the-art distribution centre is a testament to our shared vision of providing unparalleled service and value to our customers. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, we aim to set new standards in efficiency and environmental responsibility."

Ravichandran adds: “Through unlocking efficiencies and streamlining operations, the new PDC won’t just ensure Ford Middle East can serve our customers better and more efficiently – it also sets us up to continue doing so following our recent and future growth while demonstrating Ford’s commitment to the UAE and wider region.
