Sabir Ebrahim takes charge as WestJet’s Head of Cargo
Sabir Ebrahim leads WestJet Cargo with focus on efficiency, safety, and stronger partnerships in his new role.
WestJet has appointed Sabir Ebrahim as Head of Cargo Operations, effective 1 June 2025. In his first 100 days, he has led close collaboration with colleagues and customers, focusing strongly on efficiency and operational excellence.
Ebrahim is described as collaborative, driven and people-focused. His role includes ensuring smooth cargo operations while maintaining strict safety and security compliance. Working with colleagues and service partners, he aims to identify areas for improvement in daily processes to boost performance.
“It’s not just about efficiency; it’s about translating commercial needs into operational excellence while upholding the highest standards of safety and security, and ensuring continued successful partnerships with our service providers,” Ebrahim said.

Reflecting on his first few months, Ebrahim said his focus was to immerse himself in operations, connect with internal stakeholders and engage closely with service partners. He highlighted the importance of listening to challenges and successes to guide his work, and credited his knowledgeable team for a seamless transition into the role.
