Leadership shift at WiseTech as Zubin Appoo takes over as CEO

WiseTech Global has named Zubin Appoo as its permanent Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following a comprehensive internal and external search. He succeeds Andrew Cartledge, who has served as interim CEO since October 2024 and will retire at the end of the calendar year 2025. Cartledge, who has also held the CFO role since 2015, will remain with the company to support the transition and oversee key projects until his retirement.

Zubin’s appointment marks a return to familiar ground. He played a foundational role in WiseTech’s growth between 2004 and 2018, working directly with Co-Founder and Executive Chair Richard White. With over 20 years of experience in leading product development and innovation across the tech sector, Zubin brings a rare mix of deep institutional knowledge and external leadership exposure. His past roles include CTO positions at InLoop, Flexischools, and HICAPS (an NAB business), as well as CEO at Find a Carer.

Rejoining WiseTech in 2024 as Chief of Staff, Zubin has since worked closely with senior leadership, development teams, customers, and investors. His strategic insight and operational leadership were key factors in the board’s decision. As CEO, he will report directly to the Board and take full accountability for operational performance, people leadership, and commercial execution, while supporting Richard White on long-term product strategy and investment.

Lead Independent Director Andrew Harrison stated that Zubin’s deep understanding of WiseTech’s product ecosystem and culture made him an ideal choice, especially following investor feedback highlighting the need for continuity and innovation in leadership.
