At the Dubai Airshow this week, SASI World, a founding partner in the e-Smart Group, announced the purchase of 20 BETA all-cargo electric aircraft, a move that signals a decisive step toward building a next-generation logistics ecosystem. The acquisition reinforces the group’s ambition to deliver a more efficient, transparent, and environmentally compliant air cargo model powered by advanced technology.

According to the management team, airlines today face increasing pressure to meet shipper demands for speed, visibility, quality, and low-carbon operations all while keeping unit costs competitive. Integrators have long dominated this space, but at a premium price. The e-Smart Group says it is committed to offering scheduled airlines similar end-to-end capabilities by consolidating expertise and innovation under one unified platform.

A key challenge in the market has been translating the natural speed advantage of non-stop flights into ground-handling efficiency. The group aims to close this gap by integrating AI-driven solutions, smart cargo airport technologies, community systems, and improved training, enabling what it calls a “Virtual Integrator” model. This approach, they say, will allow airports and airlines to collaborate more effectively and deliver higher-value services.

The introduction of BETA’s electric aircraft forms the backbone of this strategy, bringing a distinctive sustainability and performance proposition. These aircraft will support the launch of new next-day express and e-commerce routes coordinated with the group’s partners, while also strengthening logistics solutions for life sciences, automotive, and aerospace customers who rely on rapid, predictable transport.

With more developments expected in the coming weeks, the e-Smart Group believes this fleet expansion will provide scheduled airlines with a strategic advantage and help reshape the competitive landscape of global air logistics.
