AVIAREPS has been appointed as the Cargo General Sales Agent (GSA) for Etihad Cargo in Uzbekistan, expanding its long-standing partnership with the Abu Dhabi-based carrier.

The appointment follows the recent launch of direct Etihad Airways flights between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, opening new opportunities for cargo connectivity between Uzbekistan, the UAE and Etihad Cargo’s wider global network.

Effective immediately, AVIAREPS will support Etihad Cargo’s commercial activities in Uzbekistan, providing cargo sales, customer service, reservations and local market development.

The partnership further strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies. AVIAREPS already represents Etihad Airways as Cargo GSA in two countries and as Passenger GSA across 18 markets in Asia and Europe, including recent appointments in Romania, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Georgia, as well as existing markets in the Baltic and Nordic regions and the Philippines.

Under the new agreement, AVIAREPS will promote and sell Etihad Cargo’s air freight services to cargo agents, freight forwarders and customers across Uzbekistan.

Its responsibilities will include managing cargo reservations and bookings, providing customer and post-sales support, conducting sales visits, assisting with quotations and tenders, and distributing approved schedules, tariffs and promotional materials. AVIAREPS will also provide sales reporting and regular market intelligence.

Operationally, the company will serve as a local point of contact for customers and cargo agents, coordinate with ground handling partners when required, support shipment-related administration and assist with the implementation of electronic air waybills (e-AWB) in the Uzbek market.

Frederick Overton, Global Head of Cargo at AVIAREPS, said, “We are proud to further strengthen our partnership with Etihad through the new cargo appointment in Uzbekistan. The launch of Abu Dhabi-Tashkent flights creates strong potential for cargo development between Uzbekistan, the UAE and Etihad Cargo’s wider global network. With our local market expertise, cargo know-how and established relationships with freight forwarders and cargo agents, we look forward to supporting Etihad Cargo’s commercial growth and customer engagement in the market.”

Grant Kemp, Regional General Manager at Etihad, said, “Uzbekistan is an important additionnto Etihad’s expanding network, and the appointment of AVIAREPS as our Cargo General Sales Agent will support our commercial development and service offering in the market. AVIAREPS’ local presence, cargo sales experience and strong customer relationships make them a valuable partner as we continue to grow our cargo activities and strengthen connectivity through Abu Dhabi.”

The Abu Dhabi–Tashkent service launched by Etihad Airways, aims to strengthen air cargo connectivity between Uzbekistan and global markets. The route will support the movement of time-sensitive and high-value goods, including textiles, electronics, pharmaceuticals and fresh produce, through Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
