WestJet has announced the appointment of Amanda Ierfino as Vice President, Sales & Cargo, effective June 1, 2025. This leadership change reflects the airline’s continued focus on commercial excellence, strategic growth, and deeper integration of its business-to-business (B2B) operations.

Amanda Ierfino, a long-time contributor to WestJet’s corporate and agency sales strategy, now takes on expanded responsibilities by leading the airline’s cargo division alongside the Sales team. Her promotion aligns with the carrier’s broader move to unify departments that share common goals—chiefly, strengthening partnerships, expanding revenue opportunities, and delivering consistent service excellence.

“Our partnerships have always been an essential part of WestJet’s success,” Ierfino said. “Both our Sales and Cargo teams are united by a strong commitment to supporting our valued partners, and that focus will remain at the core of everything we do. I’m excited to lead this next chapter with an emphasis on partnership, new opportunities and shared growth.”

This leadership transition comes as WestJet prepares to sunset its dedicated freighter operations later in 2025. In light of this, the airline’s cargo strategy will now focus on maximizing belly cargo potential across its passenger fleet. By aligning Sales and Cargo under a single leadership structure, WestJet aims to streamline operations and create a more cohesive commercial strategy.

The decision is expected to yield synergies between the two divisions, reinforcing WestJet’s B2B focus and optimizing the way the airline delivers value to its logistics and travel partners. The move also positions the airline for stronger, more agile performance in a competitive marketplace, as it pivots to better leverage its core network and operational capabilities.
