HAECO, Atlas Air extend MRO partnership through 2030
The arrangement also includes an extension of base maintenance support for Atlas Air’s Boeing 747 fleet from 2028 to 2030 at HAECO’s Hong Kong facility.

HAECO Group and Atlas Air have extended their maintenance cooperation, continuing a partnership that spans more than 25 years. The announcement was made with both companies confirming new agreements covering line and base maintenance support over the next decade.
Under the agreement, HAECO will extend its line maintenance support for the period 2026 to 2030. The company will scale on-site manpower in Hong Kong to optimise aircraft ground time and improve turnaround performance for Atlas Air’s operations. The arrangement also includes an extension of base maintenance support for Atlas Air’s Boeing 747 fleet from 2028 to 2030 at HAECO’s Hong Kong facility. The companies stated that the agreement provides operational continuity and allows for additional capacity commitments as Atlas Air expands its fleet and network.
“Atlas Air’s teams rely on fast, predictable support wherever they operate, and that starts with listening closely to what they need,” said Gerald Steinhoff, Chief Commercial Officer at the HAECO Group. “We work side by side to understand their priorities and shape the right maintenance support around them—so they can keep cargo moving with confidence. This renewed commitment reflects how we put customers first: we listen, we understand, and we lead with reliable solutions built for long-term partnership.”
Rich Steer, Vice President of Technical Operations at Atlas Air, said the agreement supports the carrier’s operational plans in the Asia-Pacific region. “As Atlas Air continues to grow and evolve, our partnership with HAECO remains a key enabler of our technical operations strategy, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Their proven track record and commitment to excellence make them an ideal partner as we scale to meet the increasing global demand of our customers.”
HAECO provides line maintenance services across Hong Kong and multiple locations in the Chinese Mainland, supporting more than 140 airlines with continuous operations. The company handles about 200,000 flight movements each year. Its service portfolio includes line maintenance, cabin support, and aircraft-on-ground recovery.
The company also operates airframe maintenance facilities in Hong Kong and Xiamen, delivering maintenance services for aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus and Boeing. These operations are supported by long-term relationships with original equipment manufacturers and a network of engineering capabilities across regions.
The extended agreement reflects sustained demand for maintenance support linked to cargo operations and fleet deployment in Asia. Atlas Air operates one of the largest fleets of Boeing 747 freighter aircraft and continues to expand its global operations, with Hong Kong remaining a key hub for its network.
