L to R: Claus Wetzel and Florian Zehetleitner
Dachser has announced that Claus Wetzel and Florian Zehetleitner will lead its European Logistics Germany and European Logistics North Central Europe business units, respectively, starting January 1, 2026. Wetzel will take over from Andreas Fritsch, while Zehetleitner will succeed Wolfgang Reinel. The leadership changes come as part of a planned generational transition within the company.
Wetzel, 44, will be responsible for overseeing the business development of 41 branches under the European Logistics Germany unit. He joined Dachser in 2019 and has over 20 years of experience in logistics, with prior roles at Raben Group, P&O Ferrymasters and Rhenania Group. As Managing Director, Wetzel will report to Alexander Tonn, COO of Road Logistics. “Claus Wetzel knows the strength and full scope of our network, which is designed for sustainable growth,” Tonn said.
Zehetleitner, 46, will step into the role of Managing Director for the North Central Europe unit, which includes markets such as Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Benelux, Nordics, Southeast Europe and the UK/Ireland. Ahead of assuming his new role, he has been serving as Deputy Managing Director while preparing for the transition. He currently leads the Interlocking Recharged programme to align Dachser’s Road and Air & Sea Logistics units.
Zehetleitner began his career in 2001 at Dachser and returned to the company in 2021 after holding management positions at companies such as Panalpina and BEXity Group Austria. “Florian Zehetleitner is an internationally experienced logistics manager who will further develop and deepen cooperation with our Air & Sea Logistics business field at the European level,” Tonn added.
The outgoing managing directors, Fritsch and Reinel, will step back from daily operations but continue to support Dachser in an advisory role. “The thoroughly prepared handover reflects the targeted and long-term approach we take to developing managers from within our ranks,” said Burkhard Eling, CEO of Dachser.
