April 11, 2018: Just a few days after Chris Welsh retired from UK’s Freight Transport Association (FTA), the trade body makes a new appointment to its team to lead the association at such a crucial time as Brexit approaches.

Former sales director of leading companies like DHL, Yodel, and Eddie Stobart, Jerry Kane, takes the helm at FTA as commercial director from April 9 this year and will be based at the Leamington Spa offices.

Kane has over 25 years of commercial experience in the logistics services, parcel and software markets, including time, spent running his own consultancy.

Commenting on his new role, he said: “It is a privilege to be given this opportunity and I am very much looking forward to joining the management team at such a crucial time in FTA’s development.”

Welcoming him to the executive team, David Wells, CEO of FTA said: “Jerry brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and contacts to FTA as we embark on a new phase of the business. His energy and enthusiasm for the sector will help us to develop the commercial capability of the business and help to ensure that logistics continues to grow and flourish in uncertain trading times, due to Brexit. We look forward to his contribution to the next stage in FTA’s development.”
