Mobull expands with new Brussels art warehouse, enters Antwerp market
Mobull, part of Hasenkamp Group, unveils 4,000 sqm Brussels art warehouse and expands to Antwerp via Scheck acquisition.;
Mobull, the Belgian art logistics specialist and part of the internationally active Hasenkamp Group, has announced a significant dual expansion to reinforce its position in European art handling and storage. The company is currently constructing a new five-storey, 4,000 square metre art warehouse in Brussels and has entered the Antwerp market through the acquisition of local art logistics provider, Scheck.
The new warehouse, set for completion in February 2026, is located at Mobull’s existing site in Brussels. It will provide climate-controlled storage, a restoration studio, and a showroom. This development comes in response to rising demand for high-quality, secure art storage and value-added services from Belgian clients.
“Through this expansion, we are aligning our services with the growing needs of our Belgian clientele in a forward-thinking and functional way,” said Marc Maertens, Managing Director of Mobull.
Sustainability has been placed at the heart of the new facility’s design. The building will feature geothermal heating, rooftop solar panels, and a cutting-edge gas extinguishing system designed to prevent water damage in the event of fire. Adding a visual dimension, the façade will feature a large-scale black and white portrait of René Magritte — a tribute to Belgium’s surrealist legacy. In parallel with the warehouse development, Mobull has extended its operational footprint to Antwerp. On April 1, 2025, the company took over the art logistics firm Scheck. Operating as Mobull Antwerp, the business retains its team and aims to offer more competitive pricing and closer service proximity to the city’s vibrant art scene.
"Although Brussels and Antwerp are geographically close, our previous reach into Antwerp lacked pricing competitiveness. This new location brings us closer to our clients — both in distance and economically,” added Maertens.
With these strategic moves, the Hasenkamp Group is reaffirming its commitment to strengthening its regional presence in Belgium while maintaining its international perspective. Combining robust infrastructure, customer-focused services, and deep industry knowledge, Mobull continues to position itself as a trusted partner for galleries, museums, and collectors across Europe and beyond.
