TractEasy EZTow clocks 120 daily missions at Lufthansa Cargo hub
TractEasy’s EZTow completes 120 daily autonomous missions at Lufthansa Cargo’s Frankfurt hub, boosting efficiency
Autonomous towing solution provider TractEasy said its EZTow vehicles are now completing 120 autonomous missions daily at Lufthansa Cargo’s Frankfurt hub, marking a key step in scaling automated cargo operations.
The deployment is taking place at the airline’s cargo centre at Frankfurt Airport, where the EZTow autonomous tow tractors operate across both indoor and outdoor environments. The vehicles are used to transport cargo between different areas of the facility as part of regular operations.
TractEasy, which develops autonomous solutions for logistics and industrial environments, said the system has reached a stable level of activity, with the autonomous tractors carrying out around 120 missions each day. These missions involve moving cargo units efficiently across the site, supporting continuous cargo flows within the terminal.
The EZTow vehicles are designed to operate without drivers and can function in complex airport environments. They are capable of navigating mixed traffic conditions, including other ground support equipment, while maintaining safe operations.
The deployment builds on earlier phases of testing and gradual integration into daily operations. The system is now running as part of regular workflows, demonstrating the ability of autonomous solutions to handle repetitive logistics tasks at scale.
TractEasy said the project highlights how automation can improve efficiency in cargo handling by reducing manual movements and enabling smoother internal transport processes.
The EZTow solution is part of a broader move towards automation in airport logistics, where operators are increasingly using autonomous systems to optimise operations and support workforce efficiency.
