The three-day strike at all-cargo carrier Cargolux has been called off following an agreement between the airline, Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) and Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL).

The deal includes a salary increase of 5.5 percent commencing on September 1, 2023 until August 31, 2027 (including a revised salary scale for maintenance technical staff), an indexation protection and the company’s policy regarding Working From Home, says a release from Cargolux.

"Following this, the strike will cease with immediate effect and all striking Collective Work Agreement (CWA) employees will return to work." The negotiations were conducted in the presence of the President & CEO of Cargolux, the National President of LCGB and the President of OGBL.

OGBL’s Central Secretary Michelle Cloos thanked workers on X following the announcement of the new agreement.

Cargolux remains a key pillar of the logistics industry in Luxembourg and the commitment of all parties is aimed at ensuring that this continues, the release added.
