Mammoth Freighters begins first 777-200LR conversion
Mammoth has two 777 aircraft in advanced stages of freighter conversion
Mammoth Freighters announced that it has inducted the first 777-200LR at the STS Aviation Services (STS) facility in Manchester, United Kingdom.
STS has initiated the passenger-to-freighter conversion for aircraft MSN 32222. This strategic partnership is significant for Mammoth for multiple reasons. Manchester's convenient location offers easy access to greater Europe and will serve as a central product support base for Mammoth's customers in that region, mentions the official release by Mammoth Freighters.
“STS in Manchester has a highly skilled and available workforce in the UK,” says Brian McCarthy, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Mammoth. “Furthermore, STS offers substantial hangar facilities and services which makes them a perfect provider for a double production line of Mammoth 777-200LRMF and 777-300ERMF conversions.“Last week, Mammoth announced that it had received the first delivery of the specialised 777-200LRMF Collins Aerospace cargo loading system. Currently, Mammoth has two 777 aircraft in the advanced stages of freighter conversion at its modification partner facility, Aspire MRO based in Fort Worth, Texas. Mammoth expects the installation of the first cargo loading system will be completed in September, and then the programme will progress to the final stages of the certification process.”
