Lufthansa Cargo has announced several management changes, with new appointments taking effect from February 2026.

Gunnar Loehr will take over as Head of Region DACH & Key Account Management EMEA from 15 February 2026. He will be responsible for managing the freight markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as key account management across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Loehr joins the role from his current position as Head of Supply Management and Infrastructure at Lufthansa Cargo.

Loehr joined Lufthansa Cargo in 2002, starting in the Spain and Portugal region. He later held responsibility for the Arabian Peninsula, Levant and Iran, before moving to the airline’s headquarters in Frankfurt in 2008 to lead strategic projects. In 2011, he became Head of Global Handling Processes and Performance and, in 2015, took over responsibility for the Latin American freight markets. Since 2019, he has been leading Lufthansa Group’s logistics procurement, along with supply management and infrastructure at Lufthansa Cargo.

He succeeds Philip Rauchhaus, who became Vice President of Global Revenue Management and Pricing at Lufthansa Cargo on 1 January 2026. Rauchhaus took over the role from Helge Krueger-Lorenzen, who is retiring after 38 years with the Lufthansa Group.

Commenting on the appointment, Anand Kulkarni, Head of Global Markets at Lufthansa Cargo, said that Loehr’s extensive management experience across multiple regions would be valuable in strengthening cooperation with customers.

In a separate change, Markus Cirjan will assume responsibility for the operational management of the Lufthansa Cargo hub in Munich at the earliest possible date. The Munich hub is the airline’s largest hub outside Frankfurt.

Cirjan is currently Director of Sales & Handling USA Mid-Atlantic & Ohio Valley. He joined Lufthansa Cargo in Atlanta in 2013 in the Lean Management division and later held several roles in sales and handling across US stations including Atlanta, Charlotte and Washington. In 2023, he took over management of the Sales and Handling department for the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley region.

Cirjan succeeds Ivo Seehann, who has taken on new responsibilities since the end of 2025 as part of closer cooperation with Swiss WorldCargo.

Frank Bauer, Chief Operations Officer at Lufthansa Cargo, said Cirjan’s logistics expertise would help further improve performance at the Munich hub.
