The EU Cross-Border E-Commerce forum, hosted by the Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX), Liege Airport, and OBOR Group, concluded last week, solidifying its status as a major networking event in the cargo sector. This year's forum saw a record turnout, with 581 of 792 registered participants attending the event, according to an official release by Liege Airport.

High-level decision-makers and thought leaders from over 200 companies worldwide took part, with senior management from major industry players actively engaging in discussions. The event's success was supported by Challenge Group as the Diamond Sponsor, mentions the release.

"The team at Liege Airport, led by Torsten Wefers, is extremely happy and proud of this event. It has undoubtedly set a new benchmark in the cargo industry, with high-level executives from numerous companies and countries attending. This proves that Liege is more than just an infrastructure; it's evolving into a vibrant marketplace,” says Frédéric Brun, Head of Commercial Cargo and Logistics at Liege Airport.

"Remarkably, 20% of the airlines attending aren't yet Liege partners, which presents excellent opportunities for future collaboration. After six months of hard work, it's clear that the ambition and attractiveness of this event resonated with all who participated.

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone again!” adds Brun.

The forum covered a diverse range of topics, from e-commerce trends to the future of cross-border logistics. Insightful panel discussions and interactive sessions provided attendees with valuable industry insights and opportunities to explore new business prospects, the release added.

"This year’s EU Cross-Border E-Commerce forum has once again demonstrated the critical role that cross-border logistics and e-commerce play in shaping the future of global trade. Wallonia, with its strategic location and strong infrastructure, especially through Liege Airport, continues to be a key enabler for businesses looking to expand their reach within Europe and beyond. At AWEX, we are committed to fostering partnerships that help businesses thrive in this competitive landscape,” states Michel Kempeneers, Director General – International Affairs at Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX).

Gianluca Marcangelo, Head of Industry Relations and Marketing at Challenge Group, says: "It was an honour to be the Diamond Sponsor of this forum. We were delighted to showcase our valuable assets and advanced capabilities at our home base in Liege. It was wonderful to see so many industry leaders gather here, experiencing both our infrastructure and Belgian hospitality. The discussions during the panels were insightful and truly emphasised the need for collaboration and innovation in the future of cross-border logistics."
