Chapman Freeborn acquires IATA CASS number in Germany
Clients can use additional services such as pickups, deliveries, X-ray and DG handling as part of the new service.
Chapman Freeborn is investing in cargo services to take advantage of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) cargo account settlement systems (CASS) booking to simplify the billing and settling process for all common scheduled carriers.
"CASS is processing in more than 90 operations, serving over 200 airlines, general sales and service agents (GSSAs) and ground handling companies. The on-time settlement rate is 100 percent," says IATA.
CASS yields a two-fold solution, according to IATA, as it replaces:
a) Airlines' traditional paper-based invoicing; and
b) Agents' manual controlling of those invoices, while all benefit from:
*Streamlined invoicing and collection of sales revenue processes;
*A neutral settlement office
*Total flexibility to manage data centrally or from any field office with CASSLink's web-based application;
*The elimination of invoices' loss or fail to deliver thanks to electronic production and distribution; and
*Enhanced financial control and improved cash flow as the CASS rate of success in collecting funds is virtually 100 percent.
"All airlines are eligible to participate. Entry fees are $2,500 for IATA member airlines and $3,500 for non-member Airlines or GSAs. All other costs are shared equally based on the respective volumes airlines process through the system."
Reto Hunziker, President, Europe, Chapman Freeborn says: "“Chapman Freeborn has acquired an IATA CASS number enabling companies to book a shipment on basically all scheduled operators, no matter how small or big, no matter what product.
“With this expansion of the existing product portfolio, we offer a particularly fast and efficient solution that facilitates extended access to almost any cargo carrier, ex Germany. Clients can continue to take advantage of Chapman Freeborn’s additional services such as pickups, deliveries, X-ray, and dangerous goods handling as part of this new service offer.”
