Alexander Lorz, Hessian Minister of Finance
Michael Boddenberg will step down as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Fraport AG after six years in the role, following the company’s Annual General Meeting on May 12, 2026. Alexander Lorz, currently Hessian Minister of Finance, has been nominated for election to the Supervisory Board and is expected to be proposed as Chair if elected.
Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport AG, said Boddenberg took on the role during one of the most difficult periods for aviation, referring to the coronavirus pandemic. He said Boddenberg helped guide the company through the crisis with a strong belief in its long-term competitiveness.
Schulte added that Boddenberg made key decisions that will influence the company’s future, including strengthening its international focus, supporting expansion projects in Frankfurt and outside Germany, and advancing its sustainability strategy. He also thanked Boddenberg for his commitment to Frankfurt Airport and the company.
Boddenberg has served as Chair of the Supervisory Board since May 27, 2020. He was one of three representatives appointed by the State of Hesse, which is the largest shareholder in Fraport AG with a stake of more than 31%.
