Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced the launch of the Global Control Centre (GCC) system, designed to manage large high-profile projects such as international aircraft conversion programmes, which operates in Israel and around the world.

The GCC system optimises and significantly reduces working time while allowing the company's customers to follow the conversion process in real-time with a level of detail that until this development was considered unattainable, says IAI in a LinkedIn post.

The GCC system will be managed by an advanced control and monitoring centre at IAI’s facility, The Jerusalem Post reported.

"These conversions have experienced a boom in recent years with a significant increase in the demand for air freight. Data from 2023 shows a 15 percent increase in demand compared to 2022, according to IAI, and this is expected to continue in the future."

Boaz Levy, CEO, IAI says the system “will have a great impact on [its] activities, both internally and externally, first in the aviation sector and then in other IAI activities.”

IAI has been converting Boeing 737, the 767 series, the 777-300, and the Airbus A330 aircraft, the last two of which are in the final stages of acquiring a licence, the report added.
