Feb 24, 2016: Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) International Airport, which is participating for the first time in AIR CARGO INDIA this year, at the invitation of Sovika Group, has entered into an agreement with Sovika to have freighter operations between India and Ras Al Khaimah. Sovika is likely to begin its freighter operation within next few months.
“We are looking forward to work with Sovika. We have a plan and we feel that Sovika’s success is our success. We will make sure that Sovika can establish themselves in RAK by helping them minimise their cost base and provide on-time and efficient ground services,” said RAK Airport CEO & Board Member, Mohammed Qazi.
Talking about the agreement Sahil Mehta, CEO, Sovika, said “While, we build a solid and reliable domestic network integrating the freighter along with our line flight capacities of principal carriers – Vistara & Air Costa, we will gradually expand in the region starting with Ras Al Khaimah. RAK is very strategic to our global expansions and will play an important role in becoming a regional hub for us by connecting Africa & CIS to India and vice versa.”
