Feb 23, 2016: On the inaugural day of the sixth edition of AIR CARGO INDIA, Saudia Cargo announced the launch of its second freighter service from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia to New York in the United States. Starting this Saturday, February 27, 2016, Saudia Cargo will operate a 747-400F nonstop offering huge advantage to its customers.
“The introduction of our second freighter to the US allows our customers to reduce transit time on direct services from the US,” said Rainer Muller, vice president, commercial, Saudia Cargo. “So instead of having a transit time of three to four days, we are able to reduce it into an average of one to two days. This is of significant value to our customers and complements well our already existing weekly service to the US,” Muller added.
According to Saudia Cargo, the freighter service, on the return from the US, will operate from New York to Dammam with a stopover at Jeddah.
Speaking about the response on the first day of AIR CARGO INDIA, Muller said, the start has been good. “Lot of meetings and discussions with potential partners, providers and customers made the day quite busy for all of us here,” he said. “There were quite a reasonable number of interesting business opportunities that we are going to look into and we are going to follow them up,” Muller added.
Saudia Cargo has an impressive stall at AIR CARGO INDIA and it is a key partner of the STAT Media Group-organised international biennial air cargo exhibition cum conference.
