Mar 31, 2016: Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), the world's largest cargo handler, plans of merging the cargo handling in Frankfurt of WFS and FCS were successfully implemented. Since February 1, 2016 FCS has been in charge of the WFS handling. The physical handling carried out by FCS was integrated in the warehouse capacities of FCS. All customers of WFS could smoothly move to the FCS premises due to an optimised restructuring of the existing capacity. Documentary handling of all WFS customers is still processed by the WFS colleagues.
"We have managed to bring together two companies in a short time to offer our customers the best possible service and a continuing high quality handling. This is the most important goal for FCS and for WFS," says Hans-Georg Emmert, managing director of FCS. In addition, another 19 colleagues of WFS now support FCS in physical and documentary operational handling.
FCS is pleased with the growth in qualified employees, premium customers and is confident that together with WFS, the new majority shareholder, there will be a further strong growth in the future.
FCS Frankfurt Cargo Services GmbH is a subsidiary of WFS, the world’s largest cargo handler and Fraport AG, the owner and operator of one of Europe’s largest commercial airports and the largest German airport group. FCS is the largest airline-independent cargo handler at Frankfurt Airport, offering comprehensive service packages that include complete physical handling and documentation of airfreight shipments.
