Chalair Aviation takes off on maiden flight from Hamburg Airport to Antwerp
July 05, 2016: Chalair Aviation, French airline, launches direct service between Hamburg and Antwerp from July 11. The route will be served with the comfortable 19-seat Beechcraft 1900.
The service will be operated five times a week, from Monday to Friday.
This route is popular with business travelers and returns to Hamburg Airport’s route network after a brief interruption.
Belgian carrier VLM Airlines had suspended flights on the Hamburg – Antwerp route with immediate effect on June 22 as a consequence of the company’s insolvency.
Chalair Aviation is now taking over the route. “With Chalair Aviation, we have a reliable partner to continue operations to this popular business destination,” says Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport.
Initially, Chalair Aviation will be flying once a day from Hamburg to Antwerp and back. The airline has already announced, however, that the frequency will be increased to two flights daily from September 2016, after a brief summer break.
Chalair Aviation is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year. The airline, specialised in regional aviation, is a partner of the Air France/KLM frequent flyer programme.
