Singapore Changi Airport cargo volume up 9.4 percent in July
Aug 31, 2016: Singapore Changi Airport saw cargo shipments rise 9.4 percent in July to reach 161,450 tonnes, compared to the same period last year.
It handled 5.18 million passenger movements in July 2016, a 5.9 percent year-on-year increase.
Aircraft movements were 4.7 percent higher at 30,790 landings and takeoffs.
For the month of July, all of Changi’s top five country markets achieved growth of at least 5 percent. Passenger traffic between Singapore and China rose 13.4 percent - to over half a million passenger movements.
Among Changi’s top ten cities, Denpasar (+13.1 percent) and Melbourne (+20.6 percent) recorded the strongest growth.
On July 21, Singapore Airlines launched its thrice weekly services to Dusseldorf, a new city link for Changi Airport.
